Important ideas

In 1984 there are many important ideas and many confusing ideas. the government has to keep the people in control and here's how I think they do it.
One important idea is doublethink, its important because it basically controls the people. Double think can make someone believe something that is not true, true. The government in the book uses doublethink to trick the people a lot. Another important idea is two minute hate. Two minute hate is important because it teaches people to hate the rebels and the people who hate Big Brother. It also keeps people from rebelling and teaches them to like Big Brother. There is many important ideas the government does to keep the people in order and not let them know how horrible there society is. A very good idea the government uses is the telescreens, the telescreens are good because they keep the people from doing things there not allowed to do. Anytime the government wants they can watch Winston through the telescreens . The telescreens keep the people in line. In my opinion telescreens is what makes the peoples life very bad because they cant even write a book or do anything fun or something against big brother without being seen. If they are caught by the telescreens doing something wrong the police would put the person to death or hard labor camp for many years.

You point out three excellent reasons for how the government does it. I'd like to hear more on exactly how double think works. How can the government make people believe something that isn't true? What does this say about our human nature?
