In the 1984 the author tried to get a warning across about how powerful a government could be. I thought the author did a very good job in doing that. The government is very powerful in 1984 and basically controls all of the peoples lives. The author gives a good warning about what the future might be like and its a scary thing to think about. Another warning that the author gets across is doublethink, if the government could use doublethink on people is would be very bad. All the people would like the government even if they did something horrible. Doublethink is very powerful and the author gets a good warning across about doublethink.

He wanted people to notice how good the world is now and how bad it could be if people let it get out of hand. When the book was writing he people must have been surprised of how bad the world could be. George Orwell must have gotten a good warning across because the world didn't turn out horrible.
