Do they know?

All the people in this society live in this horrible world and they dont even know. They cant remember what there past life was like because the government controls the past. The people will never know what the past society was like.
There are many ways the government controls the people. One of the ways is double think and the thought police. Thought police is a main reason because they can see what your doing at anytime and if your caught doing something wrong theres a strong punishment. Double think is another main reason because it can make you beleive almost anything. Double think is very powerfull and they can trick you to beleive something thats not ture at all. The can convince you if your working and your getting payed 15 dollars an hour and they cut it to 13 dollars an hour and they would tell you its a raise from 10, and you would beleive its a raise. So I think double think controls what they know and what there going to know. Since the government basically controls the past you can never remember what it used to be like. Winston always tries to remember what the past was like put he never can remember his childhood. Eventually I think Winston is going to figure out the government, he may risk his life but he will remember his past and understand the government. The government is very powerfull and Its amazing that they control this people and keep them living in this horrible society.
